So, I decided to take the plunge:

Quat Approved!

I'm not exactly looking to become faux-rich on Etsy . . . MicroCenter listed their last NIB in-stock Unit on Sale for USD506. I Reserved it, and MC (yay!) rang-it-up at USD434!

I have about ten thousand applications which I can put into this Unit. Unfortunately, it will be challenging bringing it into my Classroom.

It's a 20W Diode laser.

Fun, smelly (until I build a bespoke vent hood for it) times ahead!

A Chinese take away. First one of the year.
Ah, excellent.

Hope you both enjoyed it.

Anything special, apart from egg fried rice?
I always have bought Bosch Dishwasher and washing machines. Always have lasted a good amount of time.
Agreed.

Another recommendation, here, for Bosch; touch wood, but we have never had any issue with any of their products, (dishwashers, washing machines, fridges) - they are reliable, well made, and last for quite a while.

I'll be the fly in the ointment. Our Bosch dishwasher, bought in 2021, lasted about 2.5 years before it started to leak and needed to be repaired. While it is whisper quiet, I don't think I'd buy another Bosch. It's the only dishwasher I've had that has ever failed.

That’s too bad. Our last one we had for about 15 years before we moved. Was still going strong when we left, but we decided to leave it for the new owner to enjoy. Bought an updated model for this house which has been faultless for 5 years so far.

🎣 Outdoor Activities - Let's go fishing ;)

IMG_2410.jpeg

If you are a fishing enthusiast, perhaps you know these vintage rare fishing reels - Shakespeare President 2900 (rarest and smallest size for trout).
I've 2x of these metal reels (2900 II - 1st series & 2nd series), surely each over 45 y.o. - Vintage Collector items (you don't find it often on ebay) !

The picture behind was from the All-time-classic film "Forrest Gump" (Tom Hanks)... and you know: sometimes you don't need to make good business, a good job or got a college degree, live a simple life, be happy - and the rest is in the hand of god !

I just bought this Macbook 12 2017 m3 CPU for $180 CAD (~$131 USD).

It came with the 29 watt charger but no usb c cable, so I stole a 2 meter usb c cable from the Apple Store and now everything works fine.

What do you think of the laptop?

Apple didn’t pay. They just put the price up for the rest of us to offset criminals.

But hey as long as you got your freebie…..

Hopefully you’ll get caught with your shoplifting one day. Everyone thinks it’s a victimless crime, but we all have to pay for those that think life owes them a free pass.

I have a Prusa Core One 3D Printer already, but just want to try the BambuLab H2D and its dual nozzle design!

Also picked up some rolls of filament to use with it.....

I used to have the XTool F1. Great units, although I got frustrated at the amount of wastage - trying to dial in the speed and strength settings for every material in order to get a decent finish etc. I would end up wasting more material than I engraved!

Yes: I expect a decent amount of waste. luckily, I'm not beholden to Production, and this is just for exploration. Or more (depending) . . . the D1 Series is rather fiddly.

For an introductory experience, it all will be eye-opening (or -closing, as it probably should be) ;)

It’s an Apple Store configuration and in stock for immediate pickup View attachment 2528430View attachment 2528431
Hey, guess what? All three of us got new Macs at the same week what a coincidence! 💻 @Chucks4me, that’s the config of MacBook Pro my friend has. And guess what else? I also have that one, but it’s just the SSD with 1TB less storage than yours.
