A lot of people are starting to get the latest revision powerbook by now. I figured it was time we showed them off a bit. If you could post pictures of the powerbook and the screen running in OS X so we can all see how bright and clear it is I am sure many people would apprecaite it Let's see those powerbooks!

If that is the PowerBook in your sig, that isnt a Rev E, thats a Rev D. Rev E are only 1.67Ghz now...

whoops... thats a typo... its the newest pb apple makes.. I bought it a week ago with the 7200rpm hd. Ill fix my sig.

It means that it is the fifth revision of the aluminum PowerBook G4s. Each letter is a new revision (every time Apple updates the Books that's a new rev). E = revision #5.

As far as I can tell they look exactly the same as the old ones...and you can't exactly appreciate super-bright, HD screens in photographs... This might as well be a "post your powerbooks!" thread.

So, how do I find out which one mine is? My 12" PB is the version before the ones that were release the other day. Must be a D then, or? Will the OS reveal that?

Hey Rob587. I was wondering if this is your first 15" powerbook or if it replaced an existing. I had a 15" for awhile and the display on it was actually DIMMER than the one on my previous 15" Do you find the display to be brighter than the old 15" models? Should I go to an Apple store and check out another one?

They didn't update the 12" models, so you can't have an "E" revision yet, but if it was bought recently then it is most likely the "D" revision.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I want to sell this 12" PB when I get the 17" PB that I ordered a couple of days ago. So, this info will be helpful.

I dunno, I cant tell a difference in brightness but my workspace does seem slightly larger because of the better resolution. Hope that helps.

The "Rev. E." has an 80gb HD and a SuperDrive.
