Just another quick update for me.

Set up is still mostly the same, but I have added an eMac and iBook G4 to my collection. (as well as a 128gb iPad Air).

Im waiting for the charger for the iBook to be shipped to me. And the eMac has a dead hard drive in it. Not sure if I will end up selling it, or just scrapping it. Id like to sell it, as I have all the original stuff except for the box (CDs, paperwork, keyboard, mouse, power cord, etc)... just not sure anyone would want it with a bad drive in it. I just don't have the time to rip into one of these to repair it.

Nice setup!

Shameless PowerPC-less post, but good god the 12 inch PowerBook is pretty.

Yes, I only like laptops where the keyboard goes all the way to the edge for some reason!

This was the laptop I so nearly bought when I was a student, but decided to plough money into my gaming PC instead. That was scrapped as obsolete 3 years later, and now this Powerbook is still going strong. I made the wrong choice!

TBH, I think the 12" iBook is prettier still - the white really does it for me - but they were slower then, noticeably slower now, and almost impossible to find one that's not completely grubby.

Not a bad idea at all, will have to try that some time. There's something great about having the old and the new work together, although the furthest I've gone in that department is using an iOS device as a remote control for an iMac G4 + Harman Kardon speaker system.

Thanks :) I cleaned the outside of the machine last night, so it looks a lot better now. Also ran an Apple Service Diagnostic and Thermal Calibrated the CPUs, pleased to say it's working perfectly.

Now all it is needs is a better graphics card. I have very little money to sink into it though, and considering how many GeForce FX 5200 cards I have around the place already as spares, I suppose it's not too bas as-is.

I drove dual monitors on a 5200 without issues. It is a bit underpowered for the task under Leopard but got the job done. Do you use isopropyl alcohol on the aluminum? I use it on the white plastic iBooks and MacBooks.

Thats the nicest setup so far IMO, lots of gear but doesn't look cluttered at all.
Like the backlit screen area as well!

Thanks guys. Thats actually not a great picture. It would fit in well in the "Post your real (messy) workstation" thread.

Ive only even been into Apple products for about a year and a half now. But one piece at a time, Ive converted everything to Apple. I am even wearing off on the family. (as shown in the "post your last purchase" thread... I don't think the girl at the apple store was quite used to selling $5k worth of iPads at once. lol)

Maybe later today Ill clean up a bit and post a new picture. I do spend entirely too much time looking at pictures, and re arranging my stuff to look nicer. The G5 "plug strip" was definitely my best idea, IMO.

Here is my gear. Some 68K in there.

Well done on an amazing collection - the best yet and in such pristine condition, they look like they have just come out the box. Very impressive indeed.

Well, I liked thinking I had the best set up, until BJonson posted his. Now I feel so inferior.

Still the nicest desk space/working area ;) Just BJonson has a totally unbeatable and immaculate collection of machines :D

So, I just posted a picture of my set up. But, as I had mentioned, I was in the process of getting rid of my eMac. Turns out one of the nice thing about SoCal, is people want the strangest things. I was able to trade my eMac with a dead HDD for this 20" ACD. Now my G5 has its own monitor. I also retired my Win7 system, and rewired by desk. I do desperately need a TB dock though, to clean up the connections on my MBP. It does feel really good to have one primary computer, and one secondary, and nothing else. *I do only have one functional G5, the chassis on the left is gutted and houses my "cable management". The LCS from it is sitting on the shelf between the two white boxes.

That is a great trade. Congrats!

Right? I thought so too. Especially since the dead eMac was free when I got it. The Fiancée is much happier now too... no more dead computers laying around.

Sometimes you just find great deals. I scored a dual core 2ghz G5 with perfect condition Apple 23" HD Cinema Display for $40 a few weeks ago. I couldn't believe it.

That is impressive. The least I ever paid for a G5 was $60, and it didn't come with a monitor or any input devices (but did come with a LOT of software I was able to keep)

I am half tempted to post this 20" for trade for a 30"...just to see what happens. This is LA, people downsize when moving frequently...

That 12" PowerBook is so beautiful. I want one. I've been looking for one of the 1,5 GHz models but they seem to be living under rocks here in Finland...
