So. We now have a Macbook Pro, which some deem just a test run by apple to see if the masses buy into the whole "Intel Inside an Apple" deal. Which everyone will, because Steve Jobs has us all brainwashed. What is next? I know there are a lot of threads already posted that there will be merom processors in the summer, others say september, others say even October... I don't care about that. What I care about is: What line up will they have come April? Here is my predictions:

Macbook Pro 17 inch
2.0 ghz Yonah Dual Core processor
1 GB ram standard
100 GB standard HD
built in eyesight (of course)
1 inch thin
6.5 lbs
DL Superdrive
backlit keyboard
$2999 base price

Macbook 13 inch
1.5 ghz processor (single core)
60 GB standard HD
512 MB Ram
built in eyesight (something nice for those who pay less for once)
1.5 inches thin
4.8 lbs
slot load DL superdrive
standard keyboard, no back light
$1299 base (around what the 14 inch iBook costs currently...)

So there it is. My predictions. There will be no 12 inch macbook pro. Mark my words. Why? Because there has not been enough sales for a 12 inch laptop for Apple to merit a new intel 12 inch. The screen is nice in general, but it's just too dang small. I mean, editing video can get very cramped on a 15 inch screen as it is, who would want to pay over 1.5k to have a cramped screen? 12 inch intel.... right. Won't happen. Sorry to all who are "waiting for their 12 inch macbook pro". I'm such a downer. :D

I know 4 or 5 other people at school with 12" PowerBooks. I know one person with a 15" PB, and one other with a 17". It seems like the 12" PB is plenty popular. I won't be particularly interested in a 15" or 17" MacBook Pro, as they're simply too big to carry to/from school easily. I think we'll see 12" and 17" MacBook Pros, at the same time as Intel iBooks. Not everybody edits video on their 12" PowerBooks. I have a Power Mac for that.

No you're not. Anyone who's been waiting for a 12" MBPro will be more than happy with a 13" model. Or a 13.3" model. Or is it 13.2"? As long as its a near-equivalent to the smallest in the current line-up its not a problem to those who want something smaller than the 15".

I'm pretty sure it's 13.3". Personally I would rather have a 13.3" widescreen over a 12" version. I think they'll do a 13.3" widescreen Macbook Pro and I think they'll redesign it slightly as well. I think the current Macbooks are just place holders for what are really in store when Merom is ready to ship. Then maybe they'll place Yonah in the new iBooks.
