I recently added a 20" ACD to my desk, and now I am shopping for a speaker set to go with it. I used to use the speakers in my MacBook Pro, but now I am running it in Clamshell mode. I like the Altec Lansing FX 6021 set, but I am curious if there is some other sets that I should be looking at. I want something that looks nice, but also has excellent sound quality.

The Adams are great speakers. I have some Samsons, which aren't a touch on the Adams, but still great monitors.

Among my millions of speakers are my Creative computer speakers, the worst of the lot. They're fine for computer speakers though, but I try not to listen to music through them...

I'll post a pic of my setup once I get home. I am looking for a good 2.0 or 2.1 set. By all means post pictures of your speaker setups. That's what the picture thread is all about; Showing off your stuff. I am trying to get some ideas for what I want. I want it to look nice, as well as, sound good. Feel free to include impressions of the speakers you purchased along with a picture.

i don't have a pic yet, but audioengine's speakers look nice and sound amazing. free shipping in the US too. i can't say enough about them. loud yet easy on the low freq sounds. an outlet on the back to connect an ipod or airport express and usb on the top for ipods....wicked.

audioengineusa.com

and no, i don't work for them.

I added some pics in my original post of my current setup. I forgot to mention that I already purchased Logitech Z-10s, but before I opened them I learned that the software that runs all the touch panel buttons is Windows only. I'm kind of glad though, because I'm not sure they would have been the best choice anyway. Keep the pictures of your speaker setups coming!

I have the Altec Lansing FX6021's, and they're ****ing awesome. Loud too, and they will look perfect next to an ACD. Just don't buy them from Apple because they mark the price up a lot. Get them from Newegg or something, you can get em for just over $150 or so.

Center and the little ones on the desk (actually the surrounds) are Pioneers. The ones on the floor are KLH Audio Systems, and to the right of the desk (out of the picture) is a self powered KLH 10" sub. I've got a Pioneer VSX-D711 receiver driving them connected via a SPDIF connector to my desktop pc. Also I have a Toslink cable going to my MBP.
