Hey guys,

two questions here:
1. I was just wondering if anybody has tried to play either the Pirates of the Caribbean or Age of Pirates games on your mac under bootcamp. Ive been having some major issues playing both of these games. The problem is that while at sea in both of these games, the game will sometimes seem to become frozen, then my computer will shutdown out of the blue and force restart. It is annoying in the extreme to have the games restart my computer.
Has anyone tried playing these games and experienced similar problems? What do you think would cause not only the game to crash, but to make my MBP restart as well? Sound issues? Drivers (I have the lastest Omega drviers) or simply a bug? I dont have these problems with other games i play.

2. Somewhat related to the first questions, does anyone have a problem with their MBP where it will shutdown and restart out of the blue when it appears to crash? Do you know what causes this problem, and how to fix it?

I am having the same problem, with different games though. I have a 20" 2.16 imac with 1 gig ram, and anytime I play a game I can play for between 3 to 15 minutes and then it randomly crashes. I am running xp sp2, and I have downloaded the most recent drivers from ati, but nothing is working. I have turned down the graphics and that doesn't work either. I have only had my imac for two months and am very dissapointed that I can't play games with boot camp. I love everything else about making the switch from pc, and although I am not a hard core gamer, I do like to play the occasional game. Anyone else having this problem?

Hey, in response to the reply above:

Does EVERY game crash? If so, is the crashing you are experience the same as what i described for a couple of my games? Ie) the game will seize up and then the computer will force restart? I only get this issue on a couple of games, so there has to be a certain issue involved. I can still play the majority of my games (titles such as BF: 2142 and Oblivion) without much issues.

Yes, it crashes exactly as you described. I have only tried two games and they both crash in the same way (Medieval 2 Total War & the expansion Kingdoms). I am consdiering getting some more ram to see if that helps.
