I own an old tired Moto V180 (real basic phone). It was so tired in 2005, that letstalk *paid me* $100 for 2 phones.

My 2 year collar expires 6/11/2007. point I'll move to the iphone - or if there's a deal breaker - the n95.

I have a RAZR v2. When it came out I thought it was the coolest phone. It took about a week of use for me to realize that the software is absolutely idiotic. It's 12 months later and the battery lasts about 15 minutes between charges, and I couldn't hate the UI any more. I paid $150 for it when I got it (with a one-year plan).

I was on the phone with my provider about 10 minutes into the iPhone keynote, checking my contract expiry date. I could've hugged the customer service dude when he said it was before June.

Samsung SGH-D500… 2 years old now…

Well built, glass face unscratched after lots of use… nice sliding action… good sound/call quality…

But…
Awful software.
And it also doesn't sync with .Mac etc.

So, time for a change when the iPhone gets to the UK…

I purchased my silver razr from Cingular over two years ago. Happy that my contract expired just at the right time.

Still using the Audiovox 5600 running windows mobile 2003 that I got from the 'old' AT&T wireless 2+years ago.

The sync functionality was great when I was using outlook on my old pc. Since I've migrated to macs though, I haven't found a good replacement that offered the same level of connectivity for OSX. That's why even though I've been out of contract for over a year, I've stuck with this phone.

I'm really looking at the iphone, but I'm going to wait and see how it performs out in the field. My job requires that I be able to get SMS/text messages for on call emergencies. So reception+battery life of the iphone is a major concern. AT&T reception is fairly good in my area, but I need to see how the iphone performs in low signal areas.

Motorola V551.

Not sure if I'll get an iPhone any time soon, but it is tempting.

I've had a Palm Treo 650 for about a year now. All around good phone, but it crashes a lot and the keyboard has a mind of its own. I paid $100 to have the keyboard fixed and the buttons still stick. I am ready for an upgrade. 24 days to go.

Cingular/HTC 8525. I was quite content with it and didn't even anticipate the iPhone as a result UNTIL:

1. The Nokia N800 Internet tablet made me hungry for better web functionality of a portable device.

2. I did a software upgrade that could ONLY be done on Windows (so I had to do it at work) and wiped out my contacts.

I just got a Q with Verizon about 6 weeks ago (no contract) but since I'm going to college in the fall I'm probably not going to be getting an iPhone, as much as I'd like to.

Great thread. I've got a Blackberry 8703e for Verizon. It's a good phone but my work involves a lot of web browsing and a full browser would be amazing. Sadly, I go to school in Southern Maryland and Cingular service is crap there so I'll wait to graduate next summer to buy an iphone. By then I'll be in Baltimore, a new iphone will most likely be out, all the kinks will be worked out, and maybe some nice third party software will be available. Too bad I'm so impatient!

CRACKBERRY.

And if they dont unlock the iphone anytime soon im going with the new Curve.

On my fourth Treo 650 since the week of introduction with Sprint. Dem thing is becoming a complete albatross.

Even if it weren't an iPhone, something would be taking it's place shortly.

Almost went to a Crackberry, but I just want something that gives me more than another unique interface, and a reason to learn something new.

my phone is so old it still says AT&T, from before they became Cingular.

Its a moto V600. Its sturdy enough, but my birthday is June 26th, my girlfriend just got a well-paying job, so we decided to split the iPhone for my bday. schweeeet.

LGvx9800 from verizon. this phone made me realize how much a full keyboard is necessary and from now on all my phones must have htis.

Go for the curve.seriously.It is AMAZING.I got mine a few days ago and I can't put it down. If you are a crack addict now you will really miss the responsive feelign from hard keys vs. touch screen. I love the curve soooo much.
