im considering doing the Apple upgrade plan for the first time. How long is the preapproval time? I plan to place my order midnight at launch day via Apple.com. Do I have to wait a long time for approval? I’m currently a Verizon user using an X.

You can do the preapproval now. I did earlier and it took maybe 5 minutes. When preorders go live you’ll just go back to the Apple store app and finish your order.
Same here. My approval today came back almost immediately.
