i usually can turn on the mac by using the power button without having the charger plug into the mac pro but i haven't been able to do that anymore. now i have to plug the charger into the outlet before i can turn on the mac by the power button. does anyone know how to reset it so that i can turn on the mac with just using the power button?:confused::confused:

Your Mac Pro can't run without power. Of course you have to plug it in first.

are you talking about a macbook (pro)?

if so than maybe your battery is depleted (or almost dead)
under system report check Hardware/power and then under Health Information you should see Cycle count: (a number)

if your cycles are over 500 then your battery needs changing...
hope this helps...

if you are referring to a MacPro; does it run on air instead of electricity?
if so where can i get one? ;)
