Power Cable Compatibilty

I just bought a used iMac and the seller forgot to include the power cable. Before I try, it it possible to use a standard PC power cord with an Aluminum Intel iMac? I know they are shaped differently, but just wondering if it will work.

I'm going to pick up the standard power cord tomorrow, but I would like to get a head start setting everything up before then if possible. I just don't want to fry anything.
