I often use my new 2020 MacBook Pro on batteries right before bed and put the computer in the sleep mode overnight. When I get up the next morning, I find that the computer has lost a large deal of battery capacity (40% to 50%). I thought the drop would be much less than this in the sleep mode.

While this isn't 'hibernation' mode I still was expecting better than this. What have other's noticed?

You're not alone... I'm hoping it is a software optimization issue between macOS and the 2020 Pro.

Keep in mind that you should turn off Power Nap for the Battery. So go to Sys Prefs --> Energy Saver --> Battery --> then turn off Power Nap.
It was already unchecked. Darn it! I thought that was going to be my problem
