Power cord interchangable between first gen ATV (2007/8) and second gen ATV (2010)

Just picked up a new ATV from the retail Apple Store (who says they are short on stock, I just called before hand and they had plenty in stock...this was in the Orlando area).

Anyways, I have all my cables wrapped up and in a neat position and don't want to untangle anything.

So I just pulled my old 160GB ATV with the gray power cord. And use the old ATV power cord for the new ATV. It turns on, and everything works.

So is it safe to assume the old power cord is compatible with the new ATV? They look identical except the new ATV's power cord is black and the old one is silver/gray.

Of course it'd be the same. All they are are strings of copper in a plastic cord.
