Hey everyone,

I’m planning to get an iPad Pro M4 and use it with an external monitor via Stage Manager for about 3-4 hours daily, mainly for productivity tasks. After or before that, I’ll use it unplugged for 1-2 hours each day for things like reading and casual use.

For those who already have this setup, how do you handle power management? Is it better to keep the iPad plugged in while connected to the monitor, or should I let it run on battery for a while?

I want to balance performance with battery health, so any tips or personal experiences would be really helpful!

Thanks in advance!

My external monitor also provides power as it connects to my iPad via Thunderbolt. I do cap it at 80% though and that should be the best way to do it, however it’s a bit buggy at the moment (starts disconnecting at 80%)

Once that’s sorted out (or if you don’t have issues) that’s what I do: set it at 80% and keep it plugged in too.
