I have a macbook pro (2.16 ghz core duo) with an intresting issue. Lately after I charge it and unplug it, it always says "Power source: Power Adapater" which isn't all that bad, except that my battery empties far more frequently than before. Anyway, my question is this; I have tried reseting the power bios but it doesn't appear to have changed anything. Has this ever happened to others or am I just one of the lucky few?

What do you mean by resetting the power bios? Anyway, when running off the battery, can you select Battery Power from the Energy Saver System Preferences pane?

This identical problem is happening to me. I just got a brand new MBP 2.4GHz and I had the same problem out of the box. I sent it back to apple and they sent me back a repaired MPB, but same problem :(

I can select battery power when running on battery as asked below.

Any advice?
