Just a fun test to see how much power these new things burn.

MBP 16.2" Half brightness + Apple Display 27" Half brightness playing 8K HDR video total use = 70 watts

MBP 16.2" full brightness + Apple Display 27" Full brightness playing 8K HDR video total use = 98 watts

Seems MBP screen burns 10 more watts from 0-100 brightness and Apple Display burns 50 watts more going form 0-100% brightness

Just regular using both screens light stuff I'm seeing 45 watt use total. This is with both screens 1/3rd brightness.

I'm just impressed how little power this whole setup uses. MacBook had documents open and 27 Display had 8k video playing

So you're measuring the power at the wall for the MBP and the external monitor? How did you measure the 10W for the internal screen?

yes I connected Display cable to a device which measures power live and sends data to a phone app so any change I make shows up in the app.
