Power went out now apple tv won't turn on

The power in my house went out today. I went and tried to use my apple tv when it came back on and when I start it the apple logo shows up then it just goes into a loop almost where the tv will flash green and static then it will go black. It's definitely the apple tv because it doesn't show up on my phone/network and my tv works fine with everything else.

To clarify this is an atv2

was it surge protected? I can't see this being fixable, I would get a repair/replacement.

I've had similar issues with my Nintendo Wii. The fix for the Wii is to physically unplug the power supply for about 30 minutes, then plug it back in.

Worth a try.

Next step would be to try doing a restore.
Find a micro-USB cable and connect the ATV to iTunes.
