The charging case issues were discovered pretty soon after they were launched, but they seem to be getting much worse for me now. The right earphone in particular nearly always refuses to charge no matter how much I make sure its seated correctly in the case. I've cleaned the contacts, but it seems like a flawed design.

Presumably as I'm out of warranty period I'm out of luck with getting Apple to replace these for another set or ideally some sort of exchange? Has anybody had any success with fixing the issue or getting a replacement?

Thanks!

Hello I have on the Powerbeats pro just out of warranty and try to use Apple support the most they were willing to help was to replace the two buds for the low low cost of $229 which if you know you can get them on sale Brand New any color you’d like usually for about 199 so they cost to replace to buds minus the charging case is more than actually going out and buying them brand new.

Apple was extremely rude claims that there is no problems with the product and it’s just my defective product I was very offended because I usually have good relations with Apple support but in this instance they really don’t care.
Now to add insult to injury we’ve purchased AirPods Pro and I’ve realized they have a similar charging issue while in their case which means they’re quality of their products has been going down I’ve never had so many issues with Apple products until recently the quality is just terrible.

So no I would not expect them to replace your buds they will offer you an out of warranty replacement and it will cost more than buying them Brand New

Have you tried them in another case? My PBP are more prone to not charging on the right channel but I just have to make sure they are seated well and then they are fine, but this does not seem to be your issue.

They work when placed in case just stop charging randonally. Cleaning case and tips with alcohol helps but only for one day. It’s clearly a bad design Apple needs to own up to. They need to stop selling this product everyone I know has this problem. And I’m quite disappointed my air pods pro are experiencing similar issues.

Here’s the current charging status on my PBP but the left earbud insists on NOT working. Looks like I’m not the only one. Clearly it drains much faster also.

Yes my right one dies halfway through it’s battery. If I throw it back in the case for a moment and it decides to charge it immediately starts working again for another 30 minutes. I think the constant charge/ it charging cycling in the case has caused the battery to not function properly. Right one dies at 50%. I’m so disappointed in this product. And I cannot stress enough air pods pro seem to have a similar issue. Maybe it’s just bad luck but my Powerbeats 3 were solid since I went to the “Pros” whether it be Powerbeats or air pods they’re just unreliable and expensive. I love apple products I’m just not in love with the QC lately.

so $500 in on headphones and they’re both highly flawed products.

I had some BeatsX, 4 pairs, none lasted more than 6 months - Apple kept (reluctantly) changing them when they broke. Eventually I lost them and I was actually happy! They were that bad, in terms of reliability, that I was happy when I lost them and I had serious doubts about buying PBP because of the issues I'd had.

But as much I liked the APP the battery was not long enough and I run a lot and wanted something a little more firmly fixed in my ears. Plus, I do like the physical buttons on the PBP - much easier to use when running.

I do think IEMs have a short lifespan but I am hoping my PBP will last until a new version of the APP comes out.

I agree battery on air pods pro is awful but they charge quick in the case so it’s been a small hassle for me that I’m getting used to. My PBP have been absolutely fine since I stopped using them though. No charging issues and what not. Go figure but then again I haven’t touched them since I got APP
