I love these things. However, I often have to reseat them in the charging case 4 or 5 times to get them to charge and not show up as still available. On more than one occasion I’ve opened them up only to find that one is almost completely discharged. Is this a design issue or do I have a faulty pair. Anyone else have this issue?

Regardless of whether it’s a design issue or faulty, why don’t you get them swapped out? I wouldn’t put up with that.

Quite a widespread issue where one of the headphones either does not charge when placed in the case until reseated numerous times or after leaving them for a day or two to charge you find one headphone will not connect and when you place it back in the case it’s battery is almost completely dead.

What’s the point if the replacement will be the same? Thays why I’m asking to see if a replacement will fix it or if it is a design issue I just have to deal with.

I like the product enough otherwise to deal with it. Nothing else in the market fills this gap for me. I get your point, believe me I am quick to have things made right.

Thanks just wanted to make sure, this is exactly what I was looking for.

The problem right now is likely that a replacement won’t fix the issue because it’s either a) a software problem or b) is a hardware problem and currently has no fix.

It's a design problem. I have the issue too. I have to put the earphones into the case, pull out my phone and check the battery levels in the phone widget to make sure both have a green lightening bolt. Otherwise you can very easily end up with a dead earphone. What a pain. The charging case sucks all the way around (seating, size, need it to make first connection to the phone).

I like the earphones, but but I never recommend these to friends because of the case. It's too troublesome.

Do you NEVER have this problem?

i had this problem when I first got them. I actually posted that here in another thread. I became more conscious of how i put them in the case but I haven’t had this happen in a long time. Months at this point.

My 2 cents. I had a black pair and never had an issue with placing them in the charging case. I got rid of them when the other colours were released and now my ivory pair does not seat as well. I have to be very careful of how I place them in so the contacts are touching. It's not a huge deal to me but it's for sure something that I've noticed.

I have this problem all the time with only my left earphone. I've been resorting to "pressing" down the left earphone into the case since relying on just the magnets doesn't properly seat the contacts.

Also frustrating is that letting the case close on it's own, which is a somewhat "slam", can unseat the contacts. I'm guessing the momentum of the top case coming down cause the earphone to lift upwards.

These are day 1 Powerbeats Pros and I tried contacting Apple and they said I'd need to send it all in to get it evaluated, which I'm guessing they'll consider a non-issue.

Never had an issue... but I don’t just place them in the case. Once I put them in I push down with one finger to make sure they are making contact.

Out of curiosity, what are you using this feedback for? Are you using it to state your case to Apple for an exchange/refund?

I’m just confirming or dispelling my theory that it is a hardware design issue, so I don’t waste my time exchanging for the same problem. I love the headphones and workout everyday. So I don’t want to return them. And I only want to exchange them if it will really fix the issue.

I really like the headphones and workout with them a lot too. Just unfortunate that some of us are having this issue but great product overall.

I’ll be trying out the Airpods Pro since they have the same IP rating as the Beats and should hopefully stay in my ear during runs.

I’ve had this happen to me once in all the months I’ve owned it. Now I’m just extra careful when I place them back into the case....it’s a minor inconvenience for me.

I just got mine this week and wasn't aware of this issue. I only knew something was off when my iPhone's battery widget kept showing the left bud and the % kept dropping as the day went on. Since then I did the same thing- just pressed down on the bud until I hear/feel a little clip of the magnet and I make an effort not to slam the lid. Seems fine and manageable.

Definitely manageable. I’m hoping that the next version makes any sort of a tweak to make placing them in the case even more reliable.
