I want to replace my LCD Screen of my powerbook A1106 with the hi-res A1138. Some says it's possible, but when I bought the lcd screen (A1138), there are two cables (bluetooth & wifi) which is not long enough.
Is there someone out there who already able to put A1138 LCD Screen to A1106?

If you want the hi-res A1138 display panel, you need to dismantle both displays and transplant the A1138 panel and the LVDS cable into your A1106 housing which already has the correct Bluetooth and Wi-Fi cables.

If you don’t use the correct LVDS cable for the high-res display it may not work and it’s much less work to transplant it with the panel than having to repeat the whole job because you find you afterwards that you actually needed it.

Been there, done that…

This LVDS Cable attached to A1138? Because I bought it from Ebay with with the entire casing.

Yes. As you’ve seen, the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi cables in the A1138 display aren’t long enough so either you extract the cables and install them in the A1138 display or you extract the panel and LVDS cable from the A1138 display and install them in the other one. Either way, the only way to solve your problem is to dismantle both displays and swap parts.

Slightly adjacent question, but how far back does this display transplant compatibility go? Is it limited to just the A1106 or could it work in even older models (A1095/A1046.... potentially the A1025 Ti?) as well?

Sorry I’ve no idea. It’ll fit physically but whether or not the cables will naturally sit in the right places for the different boards (and have the right connectors) will be a matter of trial and error.
