I have a girl who is interested in buying my setup. I would like to get a notebook and was wondering what everyone thought would be the best solution.

I have a:
1.6GHZ Powermac G5, with 1.5GB Ram, and a 16X DVD+RW.
(2003) 20" Cinema Display (it is somewhat dim because of a backlight problem)
Running Tiger

What do you suggest for a price? Is there anything else I should consider?

HD specs?

Airport?
Bluetooth?

PCI cards?

etc etc.

a 1.6Ghz G5 (4 ram slots I beleive) is like the worst G5 ever created. So dont expect a HUGE return on your investment.

But look for $900-1300.

with the LCD, even with problems, maybe a hundred or so more.

On both machines listed here, it is a fair assumption they are about the same.

Neither graphics card, @ 64MB is very good. 128MB is minimum these days.

The HD space in macg4's was ample, but denison's is tiny.

Though macg4's tiny amount of RAM vs the 1.5 in denison's.

No airport in denison's either.

All in all, both are the same machine.

but one being 200Mhz slower, looks bad on paper. but in reality, is negligible.

and yes, sorry to say the 1.6 is the bastard child of the G5.
