You probably know where this is going from the title.

My sister just went to bestbuy and picked up an iPad. She neglected to make sure everything was set before she bought it and took it home.

So to her surprise, she found out that her g3 powermac running tiger isn't supported by itunes 9.1 and so cannot sync her ipad to activate it.

Whelp, here I am for suggestions. Try to hold off on the: "sync it to your computer" or "she's a dummy."

I'm sorta looking for workarounds that someone might have picked up along the way.

man shes a dummy she should just sync it to her computer......

Sorry I had to. But yeah taking it to the apple store would be a great idea, use a friend's computer, or (and I really really really hate advocating this) she prob doesn't have the money for a full blown computer, but she could find a good windows pc for like $140 online (by good I mean functional enough to store and sync only basically). Probably gonna be her best bet if she wants to continually sync new content and add other music she obtains from anywhere other than the itunes on her ipad.

Wow! You certainly do jump to conclusions with no evidence to support them. The fact that OP's sister has a Power Mac G3 says nothing about how much money she has. Clearly her desktop Mac is giving her satisfactory service. A computer is a tool, not a fashion statement for many owners.

As for your statement the woman should buy a $140 Windows PC, I can only say "Huh?" Can a $140 Windows PC do what the OP's sister wants? Clearly, it is not a 1.5 pound tablet with a multi-touch glass face.

My suggestion to you is that before you volunteer your opinion about the intelligence of people that you don't know and have never heard from, think. Can you do that?
