I was wondering if anyone out there can help me with a computer problem. My PowerMac G4 dual 1Ghz has been acting a little funny the past few months. When you put it to sleep or when it goes to sleep on its own, the main fan keeps running and will not wake-up. Has anyone had a similar problem or know what is wrong with my computer. Thanks for your time Andy.

I have a DP 867 and occasionally my main fan stays on even in sleep mode. I think mine is due to cooling issues with my setup.

Do you keep the CPU in an enclosed space or is there a lot of ventilation such that the machine can draw and force air in/out of the case?

Ventilation

I have owned my computer for over a year and it has never had this problem, so i don't think it is from generating to much heat. I currently have it on top of my desk with plenty of ventilation.
