Wow, the apple store now has refurbs of the dual core 2.3ghz model that I've been eyeing for $1999 (retail is $2499). The problem is that I would have wanted a BTO to add bluetooth/wireless and upgrade the 7800GT card. Question is whether I can do those upgrades after market. THe bluetooth/wireless I think I can probably find, but I'm not so sure about the graphics card.

Is there any precedence for price drops in the refurb store as a precursor to price drops in the retail store or upgrades to the line? Or does apple just have a lot of refurbed g5s right now that they want to move?

i think you can upgrade at an apple store after you make your purchase. I don't think you can BTO. I'm not really sure and thus a pointless reply, sorry!

oops, nevermind

okay, I feel better now - the dual 2.3's they have in the refurb store are the dual 2.3's not the dual core 2.3's. :) okay, just waitin' for a price drop in the regular apple store now.
