PowerPC 10.5.7 update experience?

How is the new update working with your PPC macs?
Did your update go smoothly and are you seeing any performance gains?

I am very curious because I hear intel mac users are having a slew of problems but I would like to hear from the PPC side of the fence.

I am too nervous to update right now as I have too much critical data I need to back up first and wont be able to update today.

Last night I updated an iMac G5, a 2009 iMac, and a MacBook Pro. The smoothest upgrade was on the G5 -- no issues whatsoever. Both of the two Intel Macs got stuck after the first reboot. We waited two hours on the 2009 iMac, and about 30 minutes on the MacBook Pro, of them doing nothing after the first reboot -- just sitting there. So we manually powered them down and back up. After that, they each rebooted about three more times automatically, on the last reboot coming up to the normal usable desktop. No issues other than that.

I have no performance comparisons to offer, sorry.

I updated my PowerBook last night with no issues; it certainly seems a bit snappier, like Leopard's performance is finally starting to match Tiger's performance. It's not quite there, but it's still going.

I had to download the update directly from Apple's download page.

When it finished and was trying to restart, it began a cycle of blue screen, bad scary looking black with lines screen. I thought it was the logic board, as Apple recently replaced it. I finally shut it down. When I started it back up, it restarted itself twice before finally booting up completely. It's been fine ever since.

I'm upgrading my G4 iBook as I type.

Updated my iMac G4, I actually downloaded the Combo updater.

The whole process took about 20 minutes, followed by two reboot's. I have no problems to report at all. if anything I'm finding my CPU usage to be a little lower and general snappiness of OS X about the same or maybe just a pinch faster.

Either way, the whole process completed smoothly and without any faults.

Very happy OS X 10.5.7 user... 48 days until I order my new iMac 24"/ATi

I had to reboot after it installed and rebooted to get hot corners working and then it did not want to turn off the external monitor and backlit keyboard for a few seconds after the built in screen went off.

I upgraded a Powerbook G4 Titanium running client and a Mirror Drive Door running server, no issues. I haven't noticed a whole lot of difference myself other than my battery seems to last longer on the Titanium, by about 30 minutes.
