Hi

There are a lot of headlines like "Microsoft Kinect Hacked to Run on Mac OS X".

What are the possibilities for non-programmers (aka users) with Kinect on OS X? What can I do now if I buy a Kinect camera?

Hi

Kinect hasn't been hacked, it's just working under OS X - not sure why people keep referring to everything as being 'hacked' these days.

There's nothing for end users at the moment and to be quite frank, even for developers it's a nightmare.

If you buy a kinect right now, make sure you have an xbox 360 to make use of it. If you don't have a 360 I'd suggest you wait until there's something mildly useful available.

There is a complete demo ( cocaokinect) which will compile and run for pretty much anyone, but it's not particularly exciting.

There are other example applications available but they're not really end user stuff.

I'm hopeful that things will move on but progress seems very slow.
