I have a ibook g4 A1133 and it won't turn on. What i read that it doesn't have a pram battery and it uses a capacitor instead to hold a charge to keep time and date and to make it turn on. I was thinking about to put a coin cell battery in places of capacitor. The capacitor won't hold any charge. Thanks for any help.

I ordered a new pram capacitor and a laptop battery. Come to find out if the main battery is dead the computer won't come on. The pram capacitor holds a charge for about 10 minutes. If the pram capacitor goes dead you lose date and time and other setting and the main battery won't charge. The pram battery does go bad after a while where it won't hold a charge. The main battery keeps the pram capacitor charge up. So if the main battery is dead with no power nothing will work. The power adapter does not charge the pram capacitor. I did a lot of searching on this online and found old forums too with people with the same problem. Thanks for the help.
