Will the pre-order time period begin at midnight local time like in previous years on the Apple website? I am a little confused on this because my cell phone carrier said that they will begin at 8am EDT. If anyone has any insight to this, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

They start at 5 a.m. PDT this year, so 8 a.m. on the east coast. Same as last year.

Your cell phone carrier is correct. 8am EDT.
