Other Pre ordering between Pro/Max. ESIM question

So I am torn between Pro and Pro Max.

It lets you do as many pre orders as you want but I have a question about ESIM.

For the Pro I selected replace my current ATT phone. For the Max I selected "get an unconnected iPhone"

If I decide to return the Pro, can I just set up my ATT number on the unconnected max?

Im wondering if anyone else is doing this? Or should I just order both as "Replace my current ATT"

Im paying in full through Apple Card By the way. Ty

‘The AT&T employees told me that when my 14 ProMax arrives and I do the “data transfer” it will automatically transfer my service from the physical SIM in my 13 PM to my 14 PM eSIM.

Ty. The only thing is the 14 Pro will have my ATT. If I decide to keep the Plus (that im ordering unlocked to any carrier) How would I get the 14 Pro ATT ESIM to the Plus?
