I ordered one on March 12, the Wi-Fi + 3G version and yesterday I ordered a Wi-Fi version and it says it will be delivered on April 3rd. However I was just checking out the store, again just now just for the fun of it, and guess what . . .

Now they are showing that they will be shipped by April 12th, so I hope that is for future orders. They must have sold out of the pre-orders and now going on the back orders. This is for the Wi-Fi versions. The 3G versions are still late April.

This is on the USA site at least. Check it out if you don't believe me.

Could also be, with only a week to launch, that there isn't enough time to guarantee delivery on the 3rd and also that Apple needs to ramp up production of the 3G version.

Maybe but I think at this point the Wi-Fi versions are outselling the Wi-Fi +3G versions. I think they may have under estimated the pre-orders that they were going to get. This may be more successful launch than when iPhone first came out. But I could be wrong.

No, my point is that Apple has to start manufacturing the 3G versions for mid/late-April delivery.
 
Confirmed, date is now the 12th on the first page where you select a model.

date changes could be due to minimum time needed to ship and process transactions? You can't just order one day before and expect to receive next day.
 
glad that I opted for store pickup. I wonder now how the lines will be.

if ridiculous I'm not waiting. will just get in person once the rush is over.

1 hour is about the most i'd wait.
 
I mail ordered mine first day and still says del on the 3rd for me. Prob going to those who order now.
 
so the question now is: after the first day launching, when will be the next batches will arrive on apple store? april 12 too?
 
I ordered 1 for delivery and I reserved 1 in the store. If it looks like there will be a shortage early, I will make the drive to pick up that extra 1 I reserved.

their supplies are probably on a different schedule, i think that only only the launch is coordinated for both (In store and shipping)
