Was posting elsewhere and got a flood of nostalgia just from mentioning webOS.

Active on PreCentral forums, and when webOS was certainly dead, it lead me to buy the 5c in 2013 with its “new” card system “multi-tasking”…

And been here ever since. My first posts were questions regarding iOS and if it was similar to webOS. I was also considering Android 😆

I still regularly use the optional keyboard for the TouchPad. I no longer have the TouchPad itself, but the keyboard's paired to my phone and it's great :)

Man, do I miss WebOS! So far ahead of its time. I wonder what it, and consequently, the rest of the mobile OS landscape would look like today had it gained traction. The scrolling, bottom up notifications/notification tray and gesture navigation were the best!

My first time strolling into this sub forum and I did not expect to find an ode to webOS or precentral!
I was also an active poster over there, but I made the move to BlackBerry OS 10, followed by a KeyOne with Android before grabbing my first iPhone in early 2020.
The new MagSafe system in my car is based on the touchstone charger I used to have mounted on my dash back then as my Pre2, Pre 3 and Veer would never stay charged for very long and I used them for navigation purposes.
My whole family was on Palm devices, including touchpad tablets and I even did some of the backend work on the Android Compatibility Layer for the touchpad.

I wished I hadn't missed out on it. My first smartphone (coming from a Nokia 5185i in 2009) was the iPhone 3GS. I was smitten with its UI ever since and got a 4 and iPad 3 and then, shudder! iOS 7 happened.

WebOS was peak skeuomorphism and had features that were later implemented (not as nice looking IMO however) in both Android and hardware, such as wireless charging, gesture navigation, and multitasking 'cards'. I know WebOS lives on in LG TVs, but it looks like crap today compared to the way it looked in 2009.

Still think LG should have at least tried to make a budget smartphone with WebOS though.
