When I type the three letters of a very common three-letter word, I’m getting a suggestion for the password for my old Windows 7 laptop that I haven’t used in many months.

I have never typed this on my iPad except for putting it into a password manager app.

I do have iTunes installed on the laptop but don’t use it anymore.

I use this word all the time but this seems to be a recent phenomenon.

Have I been hacked or something?

Nope, it sounds like the dictionary has learned that word from your typing.

I'd consider that a bug.

If you've typed that into a password field then auto-type should not be learning it. If it does, it's a serious bug.

However there's every possibility its been learned via some non-password field like an email, note, etc. you have maybe stored or typed.

Completely agree. I didn’t mean it learned from the password field but would like to think that’s a bit too obvious for Apple to count that as a P0 issue.

This is what I was thinking as well.

That sounds like an extremely dangerous bug. It is worth mentioning though that Windows 7 isn't supported anymore.

Thanks everyone. I would have only typed it into my password manager app once and that was years ago. Hopefully nothing fishy is happening.

May I suggest to change the password to a set of characters and numbers that doesn’t refer to any word and observe.
