dumb question but when I text the emoji’s do not auto populate. Predictive is toggled on

iPhone XS max OS 12.0.1

Any suggestions to fix this?
 
Did you updated your iOS recently? Normally after update, it will take awhile for it to learn and then offer emoji for the predictive text.
