preferences error with mobile me

Hi

I recently purchased a 2nd hand macbook which was restored and therefore still had the dotmac in icon in system preferences.

I downloaded mobile me which seems to have overwrited dotmac but when i click on the new mobile me icon 'preferences error, could not load mobile me preferences pane' appears in the dialogue box.

Can anyone help with this please

Are you running 10.5.6? If not, run the combo update which is downloadable from http://www.apple.com/support/downloads.
