About ready to buy a MB an noticed on the Apple Store website that you can choose to have software (iWorks for example) preinstalled. My question is: if you don't choose preinstallation will the MB's still come with the software? Or do you have to choose the preinstallation option in order to even get the programs?

TIA

The preinstalled software is beyond the stock new Mac software. You're still going to get OS X, iLife, and the full version bundled applications listed. (30-day Office 2004 Trial though.)

If you choose iWorks preinstalled, you will get the software on your computer as aposed to just on CD.

If you do not choose this, you will not get iWorks. You can, of course, buy it whenever at the same prie...you will just have to install it yourself:eek: .

iWork will come as a trial installed on the hard drive. You'll get a license key and it'll activate it. (I believe iWork is the only consumer Apple software with a license key.)

If you order it preinstalled you'll get the disc and license for it.

So if you order it online (or after your trial runs out that was already installed) you don't have to wait for the physical CD disks to get to your desk to have the full version? Does this work for both Microsoft Office and iWork? Thanks :)

If you purchase iWork as a preinstalled software installation, iWork will be a drop-in disc and installed.

iWork and Office are both trialware otherwise. (sadly) If you decide to purchase them then you'll get a license key. Your machine's OS X installer discs will be your physical copy since they come with the software on them. Just pop in your license key (Don't lose it!) and you'll be back to full version.

Okay, awesome! That really helps me as I need the software for a school project but I thought I had to wait until they shipped me something, but now that you can just get the license key, I think I am going to go ahead and get it. Thank you for your help!
