Dear All

I want to insert a logo over a video without there being a background, or i want the background to be transparent. despite the logo being a .gif file with no background when i import it into premiere pro it puts a black background on it.

This has been fine in the past before youtube was widescreen because the logo with the black background could go in the black borders above/below the video. now however that youtube is wide screen i need to put the logo above the actual video but it looks horrible with the black background.

Please could anyone suggest a method of inserting a logo into premiere pro with out the annoying background rectangle being automaticaly created.

many thanks,

Try using a PNG file instead of a Gif.
