I don't think Adobe will be releasing Premiere for the Mac again. They stopped because everybody switched to Final Cut Pro, and there was no demand for Premiere on the Mac anymore. If the things I've read are true, Final Cut Pro is the most popular NLE in the world right now. Seeing as how its a Mac-only application, that's really saying something about its quality. I used Premiere for 3+ years on a PC, and switched to FCP a few months after I bought my first Mac. FCP is much more powerful, and I believe easier to use as well. If you're looking for something a little less expensive than FCP, check out Final Cut Express. It's got the same interface as FCP; it's just missing some of the pro features that FCP has.
