Other Preordering online unlocked but want to do trade in?

SO I hate lines, Especially release day lines. Pre-ordering unlocked iPhone this Friday if lucky enough. What are the odds that once I do the preorder and pickup in-store would Apple allow me to do trade-ins at the store? I did this last time around both unlocked models. Not sure if they revised the program thanks to COVID.
