I ordered the 27" iMac this morning and it says prepared for shipment? Is everyones saying this?

Prepared for shipment means that it's ready and it'll be shipped soon (within 24 hours).

So the 3 week delay 1.) doesnt apply to my purchase or 2.) is soon to be updated to ships within 24hrs on the Apple online store. Anyone else purchase recently and has a status of "Prepared for shipment?"

1. Looks like it doesn't. You may want to confirm this by calling Apple
2. Yours might be someones cancellation so you're either lucky or it'll start shipping in 24hours soon, nobody knows

By your sig, you bought the 21.5" iMac which is not effected by the 3 week delay. Only the 27" iMac's have a 3 week delay.

After having ordered and cancelled many times (due to the problems), I placed my final order on the evening of Jan 13, and it has changed to prepared for shipment today.

I just sold that on ebay! I did buy the 27" 3.06 GHz not custom built!

Don't think there's ever been a delay on the 27" 3.06 non-custom. Bought mine from the Apple store a few days after it was announced.
I think the only delay are for custom builds or for the i5 or i7 quads.

Either way, hope you get yours soon and it's perfect.

I ordered my build-to-order 27-inch 2.8ghz quad Core i7 iMac on Jan 2nd and it just changed to "Prepared for Shipment" today, Jan 28th, after it was delayed by an additional week last week. I'm hoping they fixed whatever manufacturing problems that may have been causing the display issues and just gave the all-clear to this new batch. I guess I'll find out next week when it arrives and I put it through the screen tests:

FYI - my iMac shipped today, about 12 hours after the "Preparred for Shipment" status. Will be here on the 2nd. YMMV.

Apple's page says there is:

Mine shipped on the 29th and will arrive on the 2nd, free standard shipping! I wonder if the 3 week delay is in place just in case they fall behind in supplies. Either way I'm excited! :D

Apple's page says there is:

I was in the store today and asked them about it. They said they had several and that they hadn't heard of any delay issues.

I hadn't seen the 3 weeks on the page before. Maybe they're becoming back-up because of the yellow tint problems.

My 27 " C2D came today, a day early! AHHHHH Which set of numbers allow me to see which week it was made in? THank you for your help!

I think it's the 5th digit in the serial number. Or, 4th and 5th if it was a 2 digit week.

Let us know what week it is and if there are any problems yet.
