Mobile Active Defense Protects Smart Phone Email From Phishing, Malware, Viruses and Spam

Atlanta, GA: 9 MARCH 2010
“iPhones and smartphones are the next target of criminals world-wide,” commented Winn Schwartau, Chairman of Mobile Application Development (M.A.D.) Partners. “Phishing, Malware, Viruses and Spam is a multi-billion business that can now reach hundreds of millions of smartphone users that are remotely connected to the Internet and the Enterprise 24/7.”

According to ICF International, 62 Trillion pieces of junk email were sent in 2008 alone. Millions of unique types of malware exist and some are being primed for the iPhone and other smart phone platforms. A recent article on www.247WallSt.Com titled “Hackers To Hit Apple iPhone, Google Android Handsets Next Year” explains that, “(Mobile) OSX and Android should be a bonanza for hackers and malicious software engineers.”

Schwartau has long advocated that, “users should not have to worry about security on their computers – and that’s exactly what a smart phone is.” He notes that botnets have heavily penetrated home and family computers and networks because we ask too much of users who either cannot or will not secure their equipment. “We want to keep the bad guys from taking over the smartphones, too.”

He says that the computer industry has been notorious for ignoring security problems. Now users have pocket-sized computers – smartphones – for email and web access, for both personal and professional use.

Schwartau calls it the Perfect Storm of Security: Smart criminals, hundreds of millions of potential victims and a completely unsecure infrastructure. “MAD gives us a chance to avoid making the same mistakes over again.”
Mobile Active Defense’s proprietary cloud-based security technology has no impact on the iPhone’s performance or overhead. MAD’s cloud servers employ enterprise grade Phishing, Malware, Virus and Spam protection, stopping junk and hostile email before it ever reaches the smartphone, guaranteeing that only pure filtered email is received.

MAD performs over 100 security updates every day without any intervention from the user or any downloading to the smart phone. “This is tremendous,” adds CTO Rob Smith. “Unlike traditional A/V protection, we’ve done it right. Finally the smart phone user is assured of the most timely updates against the newest threats, automatically.”

“This is only the beginning,” says Schwartau. “We have a complete suite of smartphone security solutions being readied for release for the iPhone and other platforms. But, our Enterprise customers said Apple’s iPhone was the most important to release first. We listen.”

News Flash: Wrong forum... Really!

Not really. She's advertising something available in the App Store.

Personally, I'd need a lot more convincing to get me to pay $17 for this. Yeah, junk mail sucks but it's pretty easy to delete anything my filters don't route to my spam folder.

Until I start reading about iPhones infected by viruses, I'll pass.

I'm not planning to buy antivirus software for my iPhone. Apps can't send information to each other. Expecting a virus is not reasonable.

You need to see this video from 2 days ago and it affects the iphone he even has it in the video. Apple needs to allow more antispywares i believe someone had compromised my last cell phone thats why i bought a iphone. Now everything im reading is that it can be spied on too. Extremely frustrated that apple doesnt release a real antispyware. So yes you need to take antivirus and antispywares seriously.

The iPhone has to be jailbroken for this software to be installed. Rule #1, install a password that no one else knows. Other phones are different, this can be installed as long as you have access to it.

Wrong. It does not have to be jailbroken they have better softwares out there now. Do a simple search.

Edit: I removed the link for obvious reasons.

Read their websites very carefully, it is very well hidden that the iPhone must be jailbroken. You can't install any software onto a phone without it being jailbroken unless they use the developers license and then it is detectable.

From the popular website (well hidden):
This process is a little different for iPhone, which must be jailbroken first. For iPhone pre-requisites please see KB article 2.3, “What Apple iPhones do you support? What are the iPhone requirements?”

Message me the link, because there are a ton out there, and 90% of them are just the same app that is being sold under different affiliates.

I like the T-Mobile as the carrier in the pics on iTunes.

Me too! When will Tmobile USA get the iPhone instead of just the Europeans?

As for the software, if you get spam on your phone, it works well to remove it ahead of time.
