My sister has pretty good battery life on her 3GS, granted...she doesn't use it that much apparently, haha.

That's insane.

Here's my latest battery life screen shot.

That day I didn't use my phone for anything other than texting and around an hour of iPod usage....

She was even on a call with me, so I could explain how to take a screenshot, haha.

That was one of the first days I had 3.1, in the past couple days it has gotten somewhat better but honestly I've never gotten better than around 24 hours of standby with 6 hours usage on any iPhone I've owned.

I'm jealous haha.

This is a brand new phone, this is her third power cycle too I think.

I guess it'll only get better, since it's not even broken in yet!

sorry if im a super noob here..but im trying to understand how thats read..

"Time since last full charge"
Usage 1 hr, 50 mins - does that mean ive used 1 hr and 50 mins since the last time i took it off the charger?
Standby 22 hrs 12 mins - does that means its been on standby for 22 hrs/12mins since i last took it off the charger?

"Call Time"
why are these listed twice if they display the same time?
current period and lifetime. does current period reset and lifetime stays when you press 'reset statistics'?

thanks.

From my understanding, Usage + Standby = total time your phone has been used/on since the last full charge.

The call time shows up as the same on my screen shot because it's my sisters first charge actually using it since we installed 3.1 fresh.

Current period will reset once you charge it for the second/third/fourth/etc time. But your lifetime will only increase, as it adds each current period.

For some reason standby includes the usage in it as well.

So if your phone says 24 hours standby and 5 hours usage your phone has only been off the charger for 24 hours, 5 of which it was in use.

Not 29 hours, doesn't make much sense to me, seems like it should be the other way around.

okay, I wasn't sure either, thanks for clarifying that.

I've had my phone a few months now and I'm def more in line with you than the thread starter. I pull my phone off the charger at 9 and it has to go back on my 5.

Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous.

It's not like my phone is old, I got it two months ago.

Now that I've had 3.1 on there for a few days it seems to be improving some but I doubt I'll ever see battery life comparable to the thread starter.

I downgraded to 3.0 on my 3g. I can only use edge/wifi for now, 3g on soon, and got about 7.5 hours of talk and about 26 hours of standby
