Was in a plane today and opened up my AirPod pros, and saw a popup on the strangers iPad next to me. Why is this and how do I prevent this popup on other strangers devices ?

Prevent AirPods from appearing on other devices

They’d have to press the physical button on your AirPods case to connect to your AirPods. This happens at Apple Stores too if you ever go in there to troubleshoot AirPods. They want to try to connect to anything with Bluetooth on. I wouldn’t worry too much about it unless the person sitting next to you has a mask on and a weapon demanding your AirPods.
