Apple TV prevent automatic/mistaken IOS after jailbreak

Hi all,

I have Jailbroken my ATV2 on 4.4.4, Intstalled xbmc and plex .....

I have read here and there that the IOS update could cause problems hence need to install some sort of update blocker.

Below are the two methods i have read about ....

(1) updatebegone
SSH into ATV2
apt-get install com.nito.updatebegone
reboot

(2) host file changes
SSH into ATV2
cp /etc/hosts /etc/hosts.bak
echo "127.0.0.1 appldnld.apple.com" >> /etc/hosts
echo "127.0.0.1 mesu.apple.com" >> /etc/hosts
echo "127.0.0.1 appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net" >> /etc/hosts
reboot

My Questions:
(1) Which method is better of the 2 options above?
(2) whats the Difference between the 2 methods functionally?....
