While scrolling through a website using Safari, my finger that's swiping up will occasionally cause an embedded video to start playing. The trouble being that the video's audio will continue to play even as the video has long been scrolled off the screen, and the audio plays even when the phone is silenced. It's pretty annoying to have your phone inadvertently make sound as you're just browsing various forums.

I never had this problem until somewhat recently - is there a setting or something to prevent videos from being triggered from swiping behavior? I'm running iOS 15 on a 12 Mini, if that matters.

Hi! Have you checked Settings->Accessibility->Motion->Autoplay video previews? If you disable it, video previews should auto playing in the background (only works for Safari)

Hi! That option is turned off, but the issue is that my finger will sometime 'touch' a video as I'm swiping up, causing the video to play. I'd think that Safari would be able to tell the difference between an intentional tap to start a video versus a swipe that just happens to have a video underneath my finger. I don't remember this being an issue before, so I thought perhaps it was something new to later versions of iOS/Safari.

As Apple would probably say, maybe I'm just swiping wrong! :)
