Hi guys,

I'm seeing massive memory usage on the Preview app by scrolling through PDF files. Even with a file under 1 meg and scrolling around for a while I see that the memory usage goes to gigabytes. Anybody else having this issue?

There's a thread on Apple support (but not many posts):

I'm witnessing this on both my macs (MBP retina 2013 and Mac Mini 2011)

Seeing the same on 10.11.0 on a 2014 13" rMBP. Seriously I wish Apple would go back to a longer release cycle for OS X, it`s starting to feel like it`s a permanent Beta. It was always the little things and the "polish" that set OS X above Windows, these days I wonder...

A 2.4Mb 15 page pdf grows to over a gigabyte by just scrolling through it a few times, if I leave multiple pdf`s open for reference the memory footprint becomes colossal. the more you scroll, or interact with the pdf the memory consumption grows exponentially. Seriously Apple needs to fix this nonsense prior to release and stop releasing "half baked" OS`s on the general public. Preview has been "broken" for several years and clearly remains to be so...

A single 2.4.Mb pdf grows to this in 10.11.0

I've noticed this as well, especially after working with several PDFs. I happened to notice the memory usage for Preview being at least a gig
