I noticed that apparently on the latest updates of Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome for some time, I can't take snapshots from video streaming websites using Preview anymore. They just come out all black. Is this some new anti-piracy feature Mac OS has been implementing? It's annoying, because I do this a lot for showing screencaps from shows and movies on social media and my blog. I can't take video footage using Screenflow, either; it comes out black.
Or is this just a Mac OS display issue, or is there another application I can use for it?

Tried the Screenshot feature and it didn't work. This is what they come out looking like...

I suspect its a DRM block feature or something...

To test if it's DRM, does it happen on free pages as well?

Yeah, it does. The newest version of Firefox added a DRM plug-in that is required when watching video on such sites.
BUT... I disabled Hardware Acceleration on Chrome on my M1 MacBook Air, and now I can take screencaps from video streaming sites on it again!

I guess this means I can go back to using Chrome for such screencaps now instead of having to use Firefox for a while.
