For the last 2 public betas of Sonoma the Preview app will not run at all for me. If I open Preview or try double-clicking on a file that Preview can usually open (i.e. photo, PDF, etc.) it will just crash. I've tried safe mode and it still won't open. I've searched for solutions and they all point to deleting various preference files, but I don't see any of those files on my computer, as if Sonoma has a completely new way of storing Preview's preference and config files.

I also tried reinstalling the beta through the MacOS recovery mode, but that didn't help either.

Does anyone know how I can reset Preview? I'm worried my only alternative is to wipe the drive and reinstall everything from scratch, which I would rather not do.

You can use AppCleaner to delete Preview related files. Give Full Disk Access to AppCleaner.

I second trying bogdanw's approach in reply 2 above.

Remember, BE CAREFUL:
Delete all the files you find EXCEPT the Preview app itself.

Then, quit AppCleaner and REBOOT (do not neglect to do this).
When you get to the finder, EMPTY THE TRASH.

Now try Preview again.
If you try this, let us know how it went.
