Preview does not remember size of window

Dear all,

When opening a pdf document by a double click on it preview opens a window and displays the pdf in it. If the window is resized and then closed, the next pdf is displayed in a preview window having the original size. Why does Preview not remember the size of the window? Is there any way to set the size of the window?
