"Previous" iMac 27" still worth it?

A local shop has a promotion going on, selling the 'old' 27" iMac Core2Duo for only € 1299. Is this (still) a good deal? Or is the new(er) Core i3 a lot faster/more interesting, even at a higher price?

It's 450€ less than what the new one costs. Quite hard to say because you didn't specify your usage but it will likely be just fine for you
