previous opened files preview

In IlluCC is there a way to deactivate the preview of previous opened files? I'm referring to the panel that appears when opening a new file.
 
You should be able to turn that off via a checkbox in that window, or in Preferences --> General (see the image below).

Is there a way to delete the history of the recent opened files that show up in that window?
