I see the new 16" MacBook Pro has a price drop of $200. I'm in Europe (Ireland) and just ordered a 14" MacBook Pro. Any news on a price drop on that model? Or in EU?

BestBuy in the US is currently selling the 512/16GB and 1TB/16GB MacBook Pro 14s for $200 off. I'm guessing it's a weekend sale.

discounts in advance of new models?

Not a chance. The closest thing Apple may announce at this event is an updated base 13 inch MacBook Pro model. There will not be any updated 14 and 16 inch MBP models

Its always on sale in Canada, just order it on the education page for a discount. I order all my Macs and ipads that way and I'm no student lol. Got a $190 discount on my 14".

Maybe you can do the same in Ireland?

If you don't need the extra cores, the base 14" model with 1Tb drive is still $100 cheaper than the model with the extra cores.

Picked up a 14" M1 Pro MacBook Pro base model at my local Micro Center and it was discounted for $200 at $1799 US dollars.
